These are our brooder facilities with attached outside transition pens. Here we can house up to 22000 8-week old pheasants at a time. Throughout a season we will house approximately 30000 pheasant chicks in 3 cycles. Transition pens are used for conditioning pheasant chicks before we transfer them to our outside pens located at the right of the brooder barn.

ONE OF THE ROOMS IN THE BARN READY FOR CHICKS ARRIVAL
.
UPON ARRIVAL IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO GET THEM OUT OF THE BOXES ASAP - THEY'RE VERY HUNGRY AND THIRTSY!
AND THEY ARE HERE
- Feed flats are used to help the birds find feed during the first week of their life. This is the most critical point in their life. The more feed we have available for them, the greater their chance of surviving.
- Automatic feed systems are used throughout the whole barn. The food and water are close together to allow the birds to find and access them easily.
- Water nipple lines and larger plastic waterers are used from day one to train them to find water when they start spending time outside in the attached barn pens around 3 weeks of age.
